Twelve months later...

This last year has probably been the most memorable of my life so far. In January I was just getting back onto a snowboard after starting chemo the previous month. By September I was off chemo and busy ticking things off my bucket list. Without the support of my family and friends I wouldn't be where I am right now. I thank you all for the best year I can remember! Happy New Year!!!

I just got back from a trip I've wanted to do for a long time. I finally got down to Peru to surf Chicama's amazingly long waves. It only got good for a few days while we were there, but oh my.... what a wave! Longest waves of my life. So much fun! Glad I got to tick this one off the list.

Still here

Things have been a little quiet on this blog since I got sucked into the Facebook vortex about 6 months back. Well, here's something worthy of keeping this thing going.

I had a really good day with my buddy Sean Johnson the other day. We took his boat up to Port Renfrew and "fished the beach." This happened:

Here's Mike Stevens' TEDxTalk that I helped shoot over at The Haven on Gabriola Island back in March. Mike is an amazing harmonica player who does some really good work with isolated northern communities in Canada.

TEDx

I was recently fortunate enough to work on the TEDxGabriolaIsland. If you're unfamiliar with TED go here. The event took place at The Haven. This place has been very good to me lately so I was happy to help out with video at the TEDx. The event was a big success. There's already talk of doing another next year.

We shot 4 cameras so I think we covered it well. The edits should be up soon. I'll post links when they go up. Thanks to Sean Kearns for getting me involved and everyone that helped put this together.

A Day in Vancouver

I spent a Sunday in the big city recently. Mostly in Chinatown for the Lunar New Year Parade. I can't remember the last time I watched a parade. Good times downtown!
